Though it was a short trip, I am really glad that I made it. I hope Kak long is “comfortably” settled down by now.

Good luck kak long, we’ll see you end of this month!

Aiman, a UTM architectural student on practical training here is heading home next week. He has been here for the past 6 months, alone. Aiman (tak kesah) is a simple yet creative young man, is one of our family members here in Muscat. Suka layan Nabila and Hakeem whenever he spent time with us.

Last weekend we took Aiman to Souq for him to buy goodies and souvenirs.

Bon voyage and best of luck…I am sure “she” is still waiting for you..

The last week of school before a long summer break, yes! (..and I have started counting days before my break!). Yesterday, the school handed the Assessment Reports to parents - Nadira and Nabila were doing very well.

Nadira will be in year 8 and Nabila will be in Reception next Fall. Nabila’s teachers also distributed to parents CDs compiling pictures taken over the whole school term. Here are some of the pix:-

Nadira Prom Night

2007 Prom Night
with Laila

Nadira's Prom Night, the night she had been impatiently waiting for. She looked so beautiful and so ‘grown-up’…

Just another week before the kids go on a long summer break (and another month before we all go back for our annual vacation... )

Cyclone Gonu aftermaths

Amin, Aiman and Nazri

View all 9 photos...
Cyclone Gonu hit certain places hard, amongst the worst, are Al Masirat, Al Qurita and Al Heil, and close to our areas, are Al Gubra and Al Thaiba. The lake club that we just ‘discovered’ last couple of weeks is completely gone now. There is nothing there, just mud and mud..

Last weekend, we went reaching into areas where we know up till now, electricity and water are not anywhere soon to be fixed, and even the access road to these places are limited.

We went to Al Jalout, on the way to Al Quriat, distributing little things that we thought could at least help the people there - packs of goodies, rice, oil et al. The road going to Al Quriat was really bad, I wondered just how long would it take to fix all the mess, it could be just as costly as to build a new road than to repair and rebuild. Some places that we went were totally submerged under water during the cyclone, it was a very devastating view and it saddened me to just imagine the struggle of people living in this area during the cyclone. Reminded me of Nazri’s friend who lost his life trapped in the car during the cyclone in Al Gubra area.

Kesian kat mangsa2 cyclone...memang patut di tolong....charity ala2 Endon & Rosmah.....cuma tak masuk paper.... Sun 17-Jun-2007 14:02
